“Capacity Building Centre – Integrated growth through diverse skills”

Keeping in view the upgrading trend in the education sector and future challenges the organization aimed to equip the proactive students with necessary skills and capacities through our various active cells of the college. Its mission is to provide facilities and promote the underprivileged society of the pupil residing in and around Eluru through educational initiatives and skill development programs. The intent of the College is to better understand the education and employability issues at the grassroot level. The organization builds corporate and NGO partnerships for sustainable development.

The college has set up a Skill Development Centre, Capacity Building Centre and Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE).  The unemployed youth and students of other colleges are also invited to participate in the placements. The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has come forwarded to have a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the college and established a centre by naming it as Employability Skills Centre (ESC) in the year 2017. The Corporation regularly conducts various Skill Development Programmes (online and offline) with the schedule framed by the college.

A tailor made programmes are designed in collaboration with APITA (MoU with AP information technology Academy) for Soft skills, Communication Skills, Entrepreneur skill and Personality Development programmes. Department of English and Department of Computer Sciences are organizing Value added courses on Soft Skills. In addition to this Placement cell is conducting regularly career counseling sessions in association with departments. Women Empowerment Cell provides trainings to girl students to empower them in various skills such as Artificial Jewelry Making (Role gold), Tailoring, Food & Nutrition etc. Women empowerment Cell is acting as linkage with Union Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute; with this they are conducting good number of programmes to promote entrepreneurs and startups in the area of fashion design, glass painting, embroidery etc.

Career Guidance and Placement Cell activity supports the tag line of the Career Guidance and Placement Cell “STEP IN AS STUDENT AND STEP OUT WITH A JOB”.  Placement Cell of the college maintaining a good rapport with the HR managers belongs to Pharma, Information Technology (IT), Banking, Insurance, Corporate Educational Institutions and Regional Shopping Malls.  Significant placements from MSN Laboratories, Divis Laboratories, HETERO Drugs, Indian Immunological Limited (IIL), Smilax Laboratories Ltd., Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd., Maize Research Centre (An Agricultural Research Station), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), WIPRO, Coastal Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC life Insurance, Star Health Insurance, Bhasyam Educational Institutions are examples of functional efficiency of the cell. In addition to this various foundations and charitable organizations viz., Naandi Foundation, Gupta Foundation etc., contribute their valuable services in finetuning of the students career in the form of training programmes, financial assistance like sponsoring merit scholarships etc., Naandi Foundation involved in conducting the training programmes in both online and offline mode to the registered candidates from the college in association with the APSSDC through Employability Skills Centre (ESC). 

Employability Skills Centre furnished with necessary IT infrastructure like Laptops, Tabs, Printer, Display Monitors, Solar Panel System, Internet Connectivity, Surveillance CC cameras etc., intended to student training programmes for UG and PG students. 

In connection to this the college management contributed one e-class room with a projector, computer systems, Internet connection of 4mbps speed, Audio System (Lectron), 50 seating capacity furniture; one class room with 50 seating capacity and one computer lab equipped with two air conditions with Un-interrupted Power System (UPS).  Employability Skills Centre offers training various areas like Amazon Web Services (AWC), Soft Skills, Networking and Hardware, Python, Campus Recruitment Training Programmes etc., in Online and Offline mode considering the college academic time table. 

Career Guidance & Placement Cell strengthened with a team of training members from the departments of English, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Commerce, Economics and Political Sciences actively participating in various training programmes like Letter Series, Coding and Decoding, Ms-Office, Aptitude, Interview and Communication Skills, Tally ERP with GST, Personality Development and Interview Preparations, Mock Interviews etc.,  The cell headed by Chairman (Principal of the college) with an advisory members having Vice-principal and IQAC Coordinator continuously monitor the activities of the cell and conducting periodical meetings by involving the members of the cell for the proposals and resolutions with respect to various training, campus recruitment and other programmes framed.

During 2017-2018 forty five students from UG got placements in eight organizations with an average salary package of Rs.1.805 Lakhs per annum.  In 2018-2019 thirty six students placed in four organizations with an average salary package of Rs.1.54 Lakhs per annum.  In 2019-2020 one hundred and forty six students got placements in seven organizations with a salary package of Rs.1.46 Lakhs per annum.   For the benefit of the students the placement cell allows the students to participate more than one campus recruitment drive to get maximum salary as well as career advancement benefits.

From Under Graduation, 195 students in 2017-2018, 261 students in 2018-2019 and 947 students in 2019-2020 were benefitted out of 14 skill development training programmes jointly conducted by Employability Skills Centre and Career Guidance & Placement Cell.  In this way all the functional cells in assistance with the respective departments, outside agencies moves the spot light on each and every stakeholder of the institution irrespective of the gender, socio, economic differences. 

We believe that, the dedicated and qualified staff members supported by enthusiastic student community will definitely benefit and upgrade the ultimate stakeholders of the college to make their future brighter and colorful through this “Capacity Building Center”.
